Canada Day, formerly known as Dominion Day, celebraties the anniversary of the July 1st, 1867 enactment of the British North America Act, which united two British colonies and a province of the British Empire into a single country called Canada.
Remembrance Day is on November 11 and commemorates the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany at Compiègne, France, for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front, which took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning—the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918.
