 In 1996, Derek started Turn 2 Foundation to help youth who are "at risk" of turning to alcohol and drugs. The mission statement of the Turn 2 Foundation is "to create and support signature programs and activities that motivate young people to turn away from drugs and alcohol and 'turn 2' healthy lifestyles."
